Jessie Marie “Twilight Song” Crooks was a 15-year-old student at Greenwood High School in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She was of Arapaho and Cherokee decent.
On the evening of August 28, 2001, Twilight left her home barefoot after receiving a phone call from a payphone at the nearby Plano Country Store. She was reported missing the following morning.
After an extensive search, her body was found on September 10, 2001, in a wooded area approximately five miles from where she was last seen. At the time of discovery, her remains were decomposed, and her death was ruled a homicide. Twilight was found wearing clothing that did not belong to her.
Law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation include the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Bowling Green Police Department, Kentucky State Police, and the FBI. The case remains unsolved.
